Arsenal will be looking to get off to a winning start in their Champions League semi-final clash when they take on Paris Saint-Germain later today.

After taking a 3-0 lead to the Santiago Bernabeu, Arsenal won 2-1 against Real Madrid on the road to beat the Champions League holders 5-1 on aggregate and book their spot in the Champions League semi-finals. Despite losing the second-leg, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed their place in the semis with a 5-4 aggregate win against Aston Villa, making tonight the second time Arsenal have faced PSG in the Champions League this season after beating them 2-0 in the League Phase.

With Liverpool now officially Premier League champions, the Champions League remains the Gunners' only hope of a trophy this season, with the winner of the semi-final tie facing either Barcelona or Inter in the final in Munich next month. Mikel Arteta will be without Thomas Partey who is suspended after picking up a needless yellow card against Real Madrid, meaning Mikel Merino is likely to be deputised in midfield.

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Arsenal could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Odegaard, Merino; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.

We predict that PSG could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Vitinha, Neves, Fabian; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.

Arsenal almost got off to the perfect start when Leandro Trossard was played through on goal by Declan Rice, but the Belgian's early shot was well saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma who parried his effort wide at his near post. It was the Gunners who saw the majority of the ball in the first-half, but it was the visitors who took the lead just before the break with one of their first attempts of the game.

Arsenal failed to come out in the second-half with the same attacking intent as the first, with PSG holding possession while looking to create some chances of their own. Dembele, Vitinha and Nuno Mendes all came close, but David Raya made some big saves to ensure Luis Enrique's side didn't pull away from the Gunners.

The majority of the second half was played inside Arsenal's half, but with nine minutes to go, Arsenal capitalised on a mistake to draw level.

A high press from Gabriel Martinelli forced Marquinhos into a mistake, with the defender taking a heavy touch forward before losing out to Trossard. The Belgian played a ball forward to send Martinelli through one-on-one with the 'keeper, and after shrugging off Hakimi, the Brazilian fired home to make it 1-1 late on.

Neither side were able to find a second goal in the final stages of the game, with the game remaining in the balance ahead of the second leg in Paris.
