Kenneth Taylor was sent off during the first half of Chelsea's clash against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night. On the quarter of an hour mark, the 23-year-old midfielder dived into a tackle on Facundo Buonanotte, catching his opposition just above the ankle.
After much deliberation from Felix Zwayer and protests from Enzo Maresca on the sidelines, the Video Assistant Referee, Sören Storks, and his assistant, Christian Dingert, intervened. Upon a swift review of the incident, Taylor was sent for an early bath.
A few moments later, Marc Guiu broke the deadlock, firing the Blues into the lead. Estevao Willian, who had cut inside onto his left foot, picked out Wesley Fofana at the back post.

The Chelsea defender headed the ball back across the face of goal, finding the 19-year-old striker. Guiu sniffed out the danger, converting from close range.
With Liam Delap still out, the teenager will be determined to impress Maresca. Guiu hasn't featured much since Chelsea recalled him from his loan at Sunderland at the end of the summer transfer window, so he'll be keen to grasp every opportunity.
The Spaniard caught the eye when he was brought on at half-time in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest the weekend. Speaking to reporters ahead of Ajax clash, Maresca commented on the Blues' wealth of options.
The Italian said: "We have him and Tyrique. He can play as a number nine. We have different options - we will see after the session this afternoon.

"We trust Marc. We trust him last year, he was playing in the Conference League. We gave him some Premier League games. He will play games for us, for sure."
On the Dutch giants, Maresca said: "They always try to play their football. For sure, it will be a difficult game.
"They are a club that have won this competition in the past. They want to prove to everyone that they can come here and beat us. We are going to try and do exactly the same."
On playing in the Champions League, Maresca said: "It's a nice competition because you play against a fantastic club. We were not happy with the result at Bayern but the performance, we were happy with.
"We knew that was a difficult game. Benfica, we tried to prepare the game to win the game in the best way but when you face this kind of club, there are always things you can learn after the game. It is going to be exactly the same tomorrow."
