Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar informed everyone about this scheme on his social media platform X. He wrote, "I am happy to inform you that we are starting a welfare scheme for the daughters of needy rural families.
What is Didi Ki Rasoi Yojana?
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a big change in the Didi Ki Rasoi Yojana along with the Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana. Under the Didi Ki Rasoi Yojana, food will now be provided not for Rs 40, but for Rs 20. Under this scheme, food is provided at a low price in medical colleges, hospitals, and public institutions of the Bihar government.
How much will it cost?
Up to Rs 50 lakh can be spent by the Bihar government in the Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana. There are 8053 gram panchayats in Bihar and Rs 50 lakh will be spent by each gram panchayat to build a marriage hall.
Nitish Kumar said that a total of Rs 4026 crore will be spent in this scheme.
