Former Indian legend Rahul Dravid's younger son Anvay Dravid has been announced as Karnataka's captain for the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The tournament will be held in Dehradun from October 9 to October 17.

For the unversed, Anvay was the leading run-getter for Karnataka in the previous installment of the age-group tournament. He will once again be a central theme to Karnataka's top-order tournament in this critical 50-over tournament. Leg-spinner S Manikanth has been appointed as the vice-captain.

Dravid's elder son Samit, meanwhile, had represented Mysore Warriors in the 2024 Maharaja T20 Trophy, scoring 82 runs in seven matches. Mysore emerged victorious by winning the final against Bengaluru Blasters in September last year.  

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) also announced the Ranji Trophy squad, with Karun Nair all set to make return to the red-ball setup after a couple of years away from the state while representing Vidarbha. He was a critical component in the defending champions' journey, scoring 863 runs in 16 innings at an average of 53.93. The seasoned middle-order batter was a part of the state probables.

Mayank Agarwal will continue to lead the senior side. The squad also has several new faces of the likes of Kruthik Krishna, Shikhar Shetty and Mohsin Khan.
