Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recently spoke about his son Aarav’s choices in life, clarifying that his 23-year-old has little interest in joining the movie industry or managing the family’s production banner. Instead, Aarav has chosen to stay deeply committed to his studies and pursue a future in fashion design. Akshay emphasized that his son’s career direction is clear, and while it differs from his own, he respects Aarav’s decision.

Twinkle Khanna’s Role as the Disciplinarian

During an interaction with ABP News, Akshay acknowledged that the role of maintaining discipline at home falls largely on his wife, Twinkle Khanna. He described her as a firm and serious presence, one who ensures that both their children, as well as Akshay himself, follow routines and values. By contrast, Akshay admitted that he prefers a more relaxed relationship with Aarav, treating him as a friend rather than imposing strict rules. He highlighted that Aarav has matured quickly, is fully absorbed in his education, and avoids negative influences, reflecting traits that are closer to Twinkle’s studious nature.

Choosing Fashion Over Films

Explaining further, Akshay mentioned that Aarav has been very clear about avoiding the film industry. He has openly expressed that he does not wish to act or even take over the responsibilities of the family’s production house. Instead, Aarav has found his passion in fashion, actively studying the subject and aiming to become a designer. Though Akshay admitted he once hoped Aarav would follow him into films, he also stated that he supports his son’s happiness and ambition wholeheartedly.

"He doesn’t want to come in films. He has told me straight, ‘Dad mere ko nahi aana (Dad I don’t want to come)," Akshay recalled.

A Lesson in Patience

Akshay also shared a personal memory from Aarav’s recent birthday, when he wrote his son a heartfelt handwritten note. In it, he advised Aarav that patience is key in life, likening it to the difference between slow-cooked meals and instant noodles. He reminded him that rushing through life rarely brings lasting results, whereas patience builds stronger foundations.

Building a Life Away from Spotlight

Aarav has kept himself distant from public attention since moving to London at the age of 15. Today, he continues his fashion education there, steadily carving out his own path away from the glamour of Bollywood.
