These 9 days of intense heat are also considered best in Hinduism for the worship of the Sun God. Therefore, saints sit in the middle of the fire and meditate and do the sadhana of their deity during the 9 days of Nautapa. Astrologer Pandit Manish Upadhyay says that people who suffer from eye problems should definitely recite Aditya Hridya Stotra on the last day of Nautapa and also offer arghya to the Sun God.

Nautapa is considered to be a day of service to nature. During these 9 days, people should serve nature and animals the most. Jyotish Upadhyaya says that the fruit of serving animals during these 9 days is equal to a huge yagya.
