Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation against a staff officer of Bank of India in a case of criminal misappropriation of Rs 16.10 crore. The CBI's Mumbai Unit of Anti Corruption Branch is probing the case, agency sources said.
According to CBI sources, the alleged offence was committed during the period of May 2023 to July 2025. The agency officials said that the offence was registered recently on the complaint of Om Prakash, deputy zonal manager, Bank of India, Mumbai North Zone against the staff officer of Bank of India, Turner Road Branch.
Zonal manager Om Prakash in his complaint to the CBI has alleged that the staff officer has committed an offence that amounts to criminal breach of trust and criminal misconduct by criminal misappropriation of amount to the tune of Rs 16.10 crore. The CBI officials refused to divulge further details about the case stating that the investigation has just begun.
