Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's wife, Anna Lezhneva, aka Anna Konidela, visited the Tirumala Tirupati temple on Sunday and shaved her head off to fulfill her vow after her 8-year-old son survived a fire accident at a school in Singapore.
Kalyan and Anna's son, Mark Shankar, was caught in the middle of a fire accident at a Singapore school on April 8 and had suffered multiple burns. After undergoing treatment in Singapore, he returned with Kalyan to India on Saturday night.

Anna had reportedly vowed to shave her head off after her son returned home safe and sound, and to keep her promise, she visited the Tirupati temple, where she got tonsured and also offered special puja later. "In keeping with the tradition, Anna offered her hair at Padmavati Kalyana Katta and participated in rituals," a press release from Kalyan's Janasena party stated.
The press release also mentioned that since Anna is a Russian Orthodox Christian by faith, she had to sign the declaration forms at Gayatri Sadan in the presence of temple authorities, declaring her faith in Lord Venkateshwara, before shaving her head and performing the rituals.

Kalyan, along with superstar Chiranjeevi, had jetted off to Singapore as soon as the news of his son being injured in the fire reached the family. He later issued a statement, updating his fans about his son's health, and while at it, he also mentioned how Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally spoke to him and made arrangements.
"Mark Shankar is gradually recovering. Upon learning about the incident, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji personally called and expressed concern about Mark’s health, giving us courage. He also instructed the High Commissioner in Singapore to provide all necessary support. I am deeply grateful to him," Kalyan said in his statement.
