What was supposed to be a celebration of love and union turned into a living nightmare for a newly-married man in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. On his wedding night, Captain Nishad was not met with affection, but with a knife-wielding bride and a terrifying warning: “Touch me and you’ll be in 35 pieces. I belong to Aman.”

26-year-old Nishad, from the ADA Colony, tied the knot with Sitara on April 29. The following days were filled with ceremonies and rituals with a grand reception scheduled for May 2. Meanwhile, the groom was enduring three sleepless, fear-stricken nights. "She told me bluntly, 'Don't touch me. I'm Aman's property.' I was frozen," the groom recalled, as quoted by News 18.

Each night, Sitara reportedly clutched a knife under her veil, slept after midnight, and threatened violence if touched. “I stayed awake fearing she might stab me in my sleep. I thought I might become another headline,” As per the News 18 report, Nishad told relatives after finally opening up to his family on May 3.

Bride Married Under Family Pressure

When confronted by the groom’s family, Sitara said, “I love Aman. I only married because I was forced to.” According to the report, the groom’s father, Ram Asare Nishad, said that both families met on May 25 to resolve the crisis. Sitara reluctantly agreed in writing to stay with her husband, but the threats allegedly continued.

On May 30, Sitara escaped the house by scaling the rear wall. CCTV footage showed her limping away around midnight. “She ran straight into Aman’s arms,” said Ram Asare. The incident left the family dealing with “shame, police rounds, and endless questions from society.”

Nishad’s sister, Poonam, revealed that Sitara had openly contacted Aman in front of them and threatened harm. “Aman said he would kill my brother if needed. We were terrified.”

Sitara’s father, Lakshmi Narayan, expressing her heartbreak, said, “We tried to make her understand. She didn’t listen. What has she left us with? Just shame and pain.”

No FIR Filed

As per News 24, inspector Kishore Gautam confirmed that no FIR was filed in the case, as both families chose a written mutual settlement. Nishad, now emotionally scarred, said, “She never accepted me. If she returns, I don’t think I’ll be able to live with her again.”

He concluded, “That fear still hasn’t gone away.”
