delivered a heartfelt message to his teammates as he prepares to play his final game for the club on Sunday, with a high-profile move to Real Madrid on the horizon. The right-back, a product of Liverpool’s academy, gave a stirring farewell speech at the club’s training ground ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Anfield.
Virgil van Dijk surprised Alexander-Arnold with a framed jersey bearing his iconic No. 66. Clearly moved by the gesture, the vice-captain struggled to find the words but expressed deep gratitude to those who had shared the journey with him.

Addressing his teammates directly, Alexander-Arnold reflected on the relationships forged over the years: “The bond I’ve built with you all is something I’ll carry forever. Especially guys like Ali [Alisson Becker] and Virg [Van Dijk], who’ve seen me grow from a kid into a man.”
He added, “The stories, the memories I’ll be telling them for the rest of my life. I wasn’t expecting this today, but thank you. I truly appreciate every one of you.”

Alexander-Arnold set for new chapter
Alexander-Arnold’s departure marks the end of a two-decade journey at Liverpool, where he rose from a youth prospect to one of the most prominent figures in world football. Though the move to Madrid has not sat well with all sections of the Anfield faithful some of whom controversially jeered him during the recent 2-2 draw with Arsenal his contribution to the club remains undeniable.
Although his contract at Liverpool runs until June 30, Alexander-Arnold is expected to finalize his move to Real Madrid in early June. The deal is being negotiated with urgency to ensure his eligibility for the initial stages of the Club World Cup, which kicks off shortly after the European season ends.
