Mathura: Two friends were tragically burned alive after their newly purchased Apache motorcycle crashed into an electricity pole on the Mant-Vrindavan road near Hathi Baba Ashram around 1 AM on Sunday. The incident occurred while they were reportedly testing the bike's speed.
The victims, identified as Lakhan and Tejpal from Jahangirpur village in Mant, were engulfed in flames for approximately 30 minutes. Passersby, alerted by their screams, rushed to the scene and informed the police. Fire brigade and police teams arrived, extinguished the fire, and transported the severely burned individuals to the hospital, where they were declared dead.
Mant police station in-charge Jasbir Singh stated that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Lakhan's younger brother, Sav Singh, confirmed that Lakhan had bought the new bike on June 23 from Vrindavan. Both Lakhan and Tejpal worked as confectioners.

SP Rural Suresh Chandra Rawat noted that one victim died at the scene, while the other succumbed at the hospital; further investigation is underway.
