In the meeting, DGP Rajiv Krishna has clearly shown strictness towards those who are carrying out checking in hotels and dhabas.
In a high level meeting of UP Chief Secretary and DGP, the Director General of Police said that no group will check any shop or dhaba. The Food Safety Department has been directed for that. A WhatsApp group of officials from different states has been created. If the crowd increases at different places, then the officials will be updated about it.
He said that the intensity of DJ sound should not be more than 75 decibels. The Kanwar should not be more than 10 feet high and 12 feet wide. The Kanwar and DJ are assembled between Roorkee and Muzaffarnagar. The responsibility of the officials there has been fixed, if the Kanwaria DJ is high then the Kanwar will be stopped at the first place and legal action will be taken against them.
What did the Principal Secretary say?
Principal Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said that arrangements for drinking water, cleanliness and food will be ensured. Camps and dhabas should be run with purity. The irrigation department has been asked to release a balanced amount of water in the canal. The work of Kanwar canal track has to be repaired on time. Out of 700 kilometers, 25 kilometers of work is pending, the work will be completed in two-three days. The incidents that happened earlier due to different reasons have been reviewed.
The Principal Secretary said that the electricity department has been asked to ensure safety regarding the incidents that happened due to electricity. Poles and transformers should be completely covered. Orders have been given to train permanent hotels, dhabas, camps about cleanliness and purity.
He said that Food Safety will ensure that pure vegetarian food is available everywhere. Talks have been held with all state departments and concerned officials of all states. There is a crowd in Agra, Bareilly, Moradabad even after the 23rd, instructions have been given to the officers for this as well.
He said that big DJs will be kept on the bypass of the cities only, they will not be allowed to enter the city. Last year the number of Kanwariyas was 4 crores, this time it will be even more than that. Talks have been held with railway officials regarding Kanwariyas traveling by rail, no one will travel on the roof of the train.
