Now is the time to win the war against malaria. India's own vaccine AdFalciVax is ready to prevent and stop malaria from spreading. Spread the word about it, make people aware and move together towards a malaria-free India.

Malaria Vaccine AdFalciVax: Malaria has been an old and serious disease in India, which affects millions of people every year. Especially during the rainy season when the number of mosquitoes increases, then this disease starts spreading even more. But now India has taken a step towards a big victory against malaria. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has prepared the country's first indigenous malaria vaccine, which has been named AdFalciVax. This vaccine specifically affects malaria called Plasmodium falciparum, which is one of the most deadly malaria infections.
AdFalciVax is a vaccine that stops malaria infection before it enters the body. Apart from this, this vaccine also ensures that if someone has malaria, then that virus or parasite does not come out of the body and spread to someone else. That is, it not only protects the body, but also stops the transmission of malaria. It is designed in such a way that it creates a kind of immunity in the body which does not allow malaria to enter the body again.
Special features of the vaccine
It is completely made in India, that is, it is part of a “Make in India” initiative. This means that now India will not be dependent on foreign countries for malaria vaccine and will be able to ensure its availability in large quantities in its own country. The AdFalciVax vaccine is expected to prove helpful in preventing and eliminating malaria in India. If it is successful on a large scale, then it will be considered an important scientific achievement of India at the global level as well.
Vaccine trial and future plans
At present, the pre-clinical stage testing of this vaccine has been completed and positive results have been obtained. Now it is being taken to the clinical stage for trial on humans. This stage will last for about two years. If it is successful in this too, then this vaccine can become an important weapon towards eliminating malaria in the entire country. ICMR and other health institutions are continuously working on it so that it can be made available to the people as soon as possible.
Why is malaria still a big threat?
Epidemiologist Dr Jugal Kishore explains that malaria is still a common but dangerous disease in many parts of India, especially in rural and tribal areas. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), even though the number of malaria cases in India has decreased in the last few years, thousands of deaths still occur every year due to it. Plasmodium falciparum type malaria is the most serious, as it can rapidly damage blood cells and organs. This is why the creation of a vaccine for this particular type of malaria is considered a major achievement.
