Jharkhand: 806 Naxalites killed so far, 551 policemen martyred, Naxalites have influence in 18 police station areas of 7 districts

Naxalism in Jharkhand: Jharkhand has been suffering from Naxalism for a long time. So far 806 Naxalites have been killed in the action of security forces. 551 policemen were martyred during the operation against Naxalites. Under 'Operation Dakabeda' in Lugu hill of Bokaro, security forces killed 8 Naxalites including CPI Maoist Central Committee member Vivek alias Prayag Manjhi, who had a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head. For the first time in Jharkhand, a Naxalite with a reward of Rs 1 crore has been killed in an encounter with security forces. After the formation of a separate Jharkhand state, security forces have killed 806 Naxalites in the state since the year 2000 till now. 551 policemen have been martyred during anti-naxal operations.

836 villagers have died in Naxalism

In Jharkhand, the villagers have to bear the brunt of Naxalism the most. More villagers have fallen prey to Naxalism than security forces and Naxalites. So far 836 villagers have been killed due to Naxalism.

The highest number of deaths has been in Gumla, 139 people. After this, 82 people died in Chaibasa, 82 in Latehar, 75 in Khunti, 68 in Giridih, 61 in Ranchi, 61 in Chatra, 49 in East Singhbhum, 48 in Palamu, 36 in Hazaribagh, 27 in Simdega, 23 in Lohardaga, 21 in Bokaro, 19 in Garhwa, 12 in Saraikela-Kharsawan, 8 in Dumka, 4 in Pakur, 4 in Koderma, 2 in Jamtara, 2 in Ramgarh and 1 villager died in Dhanbad due to Naxalism.
