An active shooter caused travel chaos at a major airport in the US.
The gunman allegedly entered the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport in Texas just before 6am on Monday. According to reports, he was armed with a rifle and wearing tactical gear when he entered the building.
But according to a source who spoke to Telemundo 40, the shooter was killed. They said: "He's down. We're fine." No additional details about the gunman or the incident have been released so far. According to Fox News, no federal agents were hit but one McAllen police officer was struck.

Law enforcement sources said the officer is in a stable condition. Police, Border Patrol, the Texas Department of Public Safety and FBI all responded to the incident because it happened on federal property.
All flights at the major airport were delayed for security reasons The City of McAllen urged passengers to contact their airlines for the latest information on their flights. McAllen Police spokesman John Sáenz told Telemundo 40 that "the scene is still under investigation."
"BREAKING: Three federal & TX law enforcement sources tell me an active shooter with a rifle & tactical gear ambushed Border Patrol agents as they arrived at a Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, TX this morning," Fox News' Bill Melugin wrote on X.
"Local police and federal agents returned fire, killing him. I'm told this was a purposeful ambush/attack against federal agents and a press conference is planned for later this morning.
"No federal agents injured. I'm told a McAllen police officer may have been shot, but is in stable condition," Melugin added on X.
US Customs and Border Protection said in a statement shared on social media: "Early this morning, an active shooting took place at Rio Grande Valley Sector Annex.
"The suspect is deceased. The incident is still under investigation additional information will be shared as it becomes available."
The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement: "This morning, an individual opened fired at the entrance of the United States Border Patrol sector annex in McAllen, Texas. Both Border Patrol agents and local police helped neutralize the shooter. This is an ongoing investigation led by the FBI. More information will be shared as it becomes available."
The City of McAllen Texas Government wrote on Facebook: "All flights at McAllen International Airport are currently delayed. Due to off-airport safety concerns, vehicles and passengers will not be permitted to enter the terminal or parking lot. Access will remain restricted until further notice.
"An update will be issued once it is deemed safe to reopen the airport. For the latest flight information, travelers should contact their airline directly."
