There's brilliant news for fans of the cherished period drama All Creatures Great and Small as a fresh series kicks off tonight (September 25).
Channel 5 viewers will be transported back to the fictional village of Darrowby where the programme has taken a time leap and starts in 1945. This comes as the new series promises 'drastic' changes for the characters.
Although the show is set in the Yorkshire Dales, the cast shot one specific scene for series 6 rather closer to home at Beamish Museum.

When questioned about any standout scenes whilst filming this series, actor Callum Woodhouse, who portrays Tristan Farnon, mentioned visiting the renowned open air museum, reports Chronicle Live.
He said: "One that really stood out was from episode one was when we got to film at Beamish, which doubled up as Sunderland. That was a really special day for me.
"I used to go to Beamish loads as a kid with my family – it was one of our go-to day-out spots. I absolutely loved it growing up. So to find myself there, all these years later, filming a scene for All Creatures was surreal, but really special. An amazing moment."
Reflecting on his trips to the museum during his childhood, the Channel 5 star was questioned whether he knew he wanted to act back then, or if it was simply an enjoyable place to visit.
He responded: "It was definitely a bit of both. I was already on that path of wanting to become an actor, but I also just really loved how immersive Beamish is.
"You set foot in the place and everyone who works there is dressed up, in character – it just feels so authentic. Like you've genuinely stepped into another era. It's done so well.
"There was definitely a part of me that loved that feeling, like I'd entered a different world. That's a huge part of what drew me to acting in the first place – getting to fully live in different times and places like that."
Audiences will witness Callum's comeback to Beamish in the fresh series, which pledges dramatic transformations for the cherished characters.
The storyline for series six reveals: "It's 1945, and the Skeldale family is stepping into a new chapter-one shaped by change, hope, and the opportunities that come with a more peaceful future.
"There are new veterinary cases to tackle, growing families, and a few new faces around town. But at its core, the show continues to celebrate what it always has: community, compassion, and connection.
"The war may have left its mark, but the people of Darrowby keep showing up for each other-and their creatures."
All Creatures Great and Small begins Thursday (September 25) on Channel 5 from 9pm.
