Arsenal news: Gunners given injury boost as Real Madrid star sends warning

But there were still some concerns injury wise after two players - Jorginho and Thomas Partey - were forced off injured during the Brentford game, while was ruled out before kick-off.

Partey injury boost

The midfielder was one of Arsenal's injury worries after the game against the Bees as Arteta said he "felt something" and was forced to come off in the 69th minute, just eight minutes after giving his side the lead.

Arteta said in his post match press conference: "He felt something so we didn't want to take any risks."

When asked if he would be fit for the trip to Madrid this week, he added: "We don't know, I haven't spoken to the doctors yet. So they will check him now and see how he is."

But while there are still worries over White and Jorginho, according to Football London, there have been signs that Partey's injury could be less severe than first thought.

A report said Partey was seen speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the Brentford game, adding that players who have suffered bad injuries usually avoid post-match interviews with the press.

Vasquez warns Gunners

Madrid seem to be growing in confidence that they could pull off a stunning comeback against this week.

Carlo Ancelotti has already said the squad believe they can turn things around, while has also fired a warning at Arsenal - insisting "crazy things can happen" at the Bernabeu.

And now Lucas Vasquez has joined the chorus of optimism from the Madrid camp by insisting that if there is any club that can overturn a 3-0 deficit, it is Los Blancos.

“It's difficult, but if there's any team in the that can turn this situation around, it's us in front of our home fans at our ground," he said.

"We'll see a different game on Wednesday and if we all stick together, we'll come through it."

Arsenal shortlist Hato

Arsenal are facing a big summer in the transfer window after falling further behind in the title race after their draw against Brentford this weekend.

The Gunners know the title race is all but over, now putting all their focus on their campaign.

But they'll still be preparing for a huge season next year where they will believe they have every chance of challenging the likes of Liverpool as long as they strengthen in key areas.

A striker has previously been the main focus and priority for the club, but Mirror Football reported this week that they are also open to strengthening their defence, with Ajax star Jorrel Hato a target.

Promising Holland international Hato has been on the Gunners' radar since late 2023 but a move is yet to materialise and he has since gone from strength to strength in Amsterdam, where he is seen as a key player under boss Francesco Farioli.

The 19-year-old has started 24 games in the Eredivisie this season - mainly at left back - but he's capable of playing at centre-back too. He has two goals and six assists.
