He also spoke about Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa's relationship, after making the thinly veiled comment about them to Ella.

"They're the professionals within the group which is why they do all the strange things," he said.

When asked whether their connection was genuine, he said: "I don't know if it's genuine - I think it works for both of them."

During Daley's late day in the Celebrity house, Ella asked the Olympic athlete for advice, with Daley responding: "I have got no advice for you except...I know it's difficult if you are struggling to be heard, put your hand up.

"Because there's some people that are really loud and there's some people that do this professionally as a game."

He added: "There's two people in here that do it all of the time. I think on the cameras, people will be interested in their relationship."

The comment kickstarted a debate in the house over whether Chris and JoJo's bond was genuine - with Ella suggesting that Chris was using JoJo for her huge social media following.

In tonight's episode, after being accused of playing a game by his fellow housemates. Crying to Big Brother in the diary room, Chris says: "I’m literally in here, I’m just living, I’m just being me. I had toxic stuff and I had bad energy, it just brings you down."

Having spoken about his feelings about JoJo on the show, Chris said that they are like "two peas in a pod".

"If she left the house ever and I'd be stuck in here that would genuinely be crushed. I guess she's like my person in here. When you walk into a party you don't know anyone, there's someone you want to see in the room that makes you want to feel at ease," he said.

"It makes me feel happy it makes me feel comfortable and it allows me to be me, it really brings out me, I like me, I like being me and I'll always be me and it takes someone to get you. We're like two peas in a pod."
