GerI Halliwell- Horner looked somewhat tense on Saturday, sheltering under an umbrella, when she supported her husband, Christian Horner, at Silverstone. The Red Bull CEO was at the iconic race track in Northamptonshire, leading his team and driver, Max Verstappen, to fifth place in the Formula One championship before the shock news of his sacking was announced today.
Christian, 51, has been removed from his positions as chief executive and team principal of the Formula One team, with a spokesperson for parent company Red Bull GmbH telling Mirror Sport: "Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today."

Before the shocking news was announced, Geri, 52, looked radiant as she arrived at Silverstone with her daughter, Bluebell and son she shares with Christian, Monty. Sporting her staple choice of outfit colour – all-white – the Spice Girl was snapped wearing flared trousers, a cotton jacket and platform boots, as she made her way across the paddock as the heavens opened before the race began on the same day her former bandmate, Mel B, got married.
Geri was noticeably absent as Mel exchanged vows with fiancé Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral in London on Saturday, amidst a crowd of A-list guests.
The artist formerly known as Ginger Spice has stood by Christian since he was accused and subsequently cleared of 'inappropriate behaviour' by a female colleague.
An investigation into the allegations was carried out and Horner was cleared by Red Bull the day before the F1 season started inlast year, but the accuser appealed the outcome. After almost five months, her appeal against the decision was eventually dismissedin August.
In the initial complaint against Horner, a file alleging to contain evidence of texts and images was leaked to nearly 200 people in the F1 paddock, including franchise owner Liberty Media, team principals and the media.
However, the authenticity of the files was never verified because it was sent from a generic nameless email account. Horner has strongly denied any wrongdoing from the outset.
The father-of-two has been Red Bull's only leader since it first arrived in Formula 1 back in 2005. The Red Bull energy drinks company purchased the struggling Jaguar F1 team in November 2004 and Horner was recruited to help turn it into a force on the grid.
Following his exit today, Red Bull said: "We would like to thank Christian Horner for his exceptional work over the last 20 years. With his tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking, he has been instrumental in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams in Formula 1.
"Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever remain an important part of our team history."
