Michelle Keegan left fans feeling 'so sad' as she announced the 'last hurrah' of hit show Brassic. The former Coronation Street actress, 38, has portrayed Erin Croft in the beloved Sky comedy series since its debut in 2019.
However, the long-running role is now drawing to a close as it was confirmed the current series would be the final one. Audiences were battling to come to terms with the announcement, with many declaring they were 'not ready to say goodbye'.
Michelle, who rose to stardom in Coronation Street, was equally heartbroken that filming had wrapped on the 'iconic' show, which chronicles a group of skint working-class mates residing in the fictional village of Hawley.
She previously revealed to the Daily Star: "It's really sad and for me it's felt like home. Every year, I'd go off and do other projects and then I'd come back home to Brassic as it was always at the same time every year. It was the nicest job to do because it was like seeing all your mates again."

Michelle, who is presently shooting for a fresh ITV drama, The Blame, took to Instagram on Wednesday to post some snaps from her stint on Brassic.
In the caption, she penned: "The last hurrah! ! ! BRASSIC FINALE. Starts tomorrow on @skytv."
The comments section was flooded with people expressing their feelings about the series reaching its conclusion, reports the Manchester Evening News.
One posted: "Icons. Can't wait but not ready to say goodbye." A second supporter commented: "Can't believe this! Loved every season."
A third fan chimed in: "Hands down the best thing on tv! ! ! Not ready for it to be over." While another penned: "Absolutely loved this series so sad its ending."
Earlier this month, mum-of-one Michelle shared her heartache that the iconic show was coming to an end. In a gushing post on Instagram, she penned: "It's really sad and for me it's felt like home. Every year, I'd go off and do other projects and then I'd come back home to Brassic as it was always at the same time every year. It was the nicest job to do because it was like seeing all your mates again."
The show was filmed in places around the North of England, including Manchester, where Michelle is from. Having married Mark Wright and settled in Epping, Essex, it's not often that Michelle seemed to relish being able to head back up north for a shoot each year.
The comedy about a group of friends in a forgotten town in the North of England, was a raving success and it's lead, Joseph Gilgun was nominated for several BAFTAs.

Michelle was on Corrie for six years. Her character, Tina, went through several big storylines such as one centring on abortion after her affair with David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), which ultimately resulted in argument between David and Gail in which he pushed his mother down the stairs.
Since leaving Corrie after Tina's death, Michelle has been in a lot of popular TV shows. Taking over from EastEnders Lacey Turner, she fronted season two onwards of army drama Our Girl, took on a lead role in period drama Ten Pound Poms and led Netflix's adaptation of Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once.
