When I heard that Nobody’s Child was hosting a fashion editor shopping event at the Covent Garden store, I practically sprinted there. Okay, not literally, but in fashion editor terms, I cleared my schedule, skipped breakfast and made a beeline for the London space, armed with a double espresso and ready to get stuck in. Nobody’s Child has been on my radar for a while now, and I keep getting served ads and influencer inspo for the brand's latest collections (gorgeous, by the way).
The store itself? A dreamy little treasure trove. Think flattering lighting, rails of midi dresses in more exciting prints than you could imagine, and that kind of ‘just try it on for fun’ energy that ends in a full dressing room and a heavily hit bank card. After scouring the rails for new and hero pieces, I slipped into several items that I really think are hidden gems.
Now bear with me. I know Nobody's Child is famous for its midi dresses, but I was looking for everyday hero pieces I can wear time and time again. Stick with me until the end, though, because I do also take home three classic N.C. dresses that I know will make an appearance several times over the summer at events.
So, what did I try on? Let’s just say I gave the changing room curtains a serious workout...

First up: the , £85. This one had "I mean business" written all over it, in a very chic way. The sharp tailoring, the subtle pinstripes, the mini length... it really reminded me of ‘90s Kate Moss meets office-core revival, and I was very into it. I’d wear it with knee-high boots for autumn or throw on a chunky trainer to dress it down.
Next, I slipped into the , £69, and wow, I didn't want to take it off. You know those dresses that look put-together, and no matter how many times you wear them, you can style them to look different each time? This was that. The tie waist cinches perfectly without feeling fussy, and it’s one of those pieces that could easily swing from picnics in the park to drinks on a rooftop. I also loved how it looked a little like a tennis dress, but in a more office-appropriate linen fabric. Spoiler: this one came home with me.

I also gave, £45, a whirl, and she’s a quiet icon. It’s got a sweet-but-not-too-sweet effect thanks to the broderie anglaise details and slightly puffed sleeves. I’d pair this with vintage denim or a floaty midi skirt for an elevated basic look. It also pairs perfectly with the ballet flats trend.
Speaking of denim, let’s talk about, £75 – finally back in stock after selling out. I’ve been hunting for a pair like this for ages. High-rise, leg-lengthening, and with just the right amount of slouch, these are the jeans that make you want to ditch your skinnies for good (if you haven't already). I styled them with the Emmie blouse and immediately felt like I belonged in a Scandi street style round-up. For reference, I'm 5ft7 so I shopped the longer 31" length.
Now, onto the midi dresses...
I did promise you there would be classic midi dresses, and these three came straight home with me. First up, I bagged the , £79. This monochrome dress promises to be the perfect mix of casual and elegant. The one-shoulder design gives it a modern edge, while the crochet trim adds just the right amount of detail to keep things interesting. I'm completely in love with it – it's so chic but also interesting with the shoulder and crochet additions. I know I'll be wearing it time and time again.
Onto the next, the , £89. A black and white gingham dress is an absolute staple for spring/summer 2025. The soft gathering of this midi and puff sleeves give it a romantic feel, while the covered buttons add a touch of vintage charm. And let's not forget the pockets, because who doesn't love a dress with pockets? If gingham isn't your thing, this midi comes in 19 other colours and prints.
Finally, the last piece to hit my bag was the , £89, which immediately looked to me like a vacation in a dress. The playful patchwork design features a square neckline and puff sleeves. The pleated skirt adds a touch of elegance, while the shirred back gives it a comfy fit. Now, I just need to book somewhere exotic so that I can wear it.
I'll also note that I was actually at the Nobody's Child store to check out the (yes, the brand also does beauty, and very well). I had a sniff of the new solid Karpo Solid Perfume and immediately bagged it for all my summer travel plans (hello, more liquid allowance). I also took home the Karpo Candle so I could keep my house smelling of bergamot, mandarin and neroli all month.
