Wynne Evans set to 'clear his name' after Strictly scandal with fresh evidence

One video is believed to "change everything" for . The Welsh opera star has been under-fire since a video emerged of him allegedly making a crude remark at icon, Janette Manrara.

Following the comment which was made during a photocall for the live tour of the programme last year, Wynne was subsequently axed from the show and also stepped out of the limelight and away from his radio show. But now, sources claim that a full length version of the video has emerged an it could prove Wynne's innocence.

During his time on the show, he was also accused of groping his dance partner, Katya Jones, who leapt to Wynne's defence and insisted that nothing inappropriate happened. Now, a video of the alleged sexual remark is believed to have been examined by experts who have uncovered one vital part.

The video is said to have a "different context" to what people have been led to believe, with the comments actually being made at ' , who Wynne could be heard saying: "Old spitroast boy," at.

Speaking to , a source said: "Wynne's team have had the clip sent off to a cyber forensics team which has come back with a word nobody had previously picked up on before; they believe it changes everything.

"In it, he can be heard saying 'old spitroast boy' to Jamie Borthwick. It may seem like semantics, but the 'old' and the 'boy' proves he was addressing Jamie and NOT making a crude sexual remark about Janette, as originally thought." They added that it is an alleged reference to Jamie placing his legs behind his head – resembling a spit roast chicken.

Janette Manrara is also believed to have reached out to Wynne, insisting he needn't worry about her. Earlier this week, Wynne became embroiled in another scandal with Jamie Borthwick involving a sex toy which was gifted to the actor as a joke. It was then brandished backstage during the Strictly live tour. The offensive footage is said to have been shared in theStrictly group among the celebrity contestants from the series.

The clip is thought to have been filmed just two days after Wynne was recorded making a vile sexual comment to Jamie about pro dancer Janette Manrara. Shortly after, Wynne was axed from the live tour. The GoCompare advert star recently vowed to fight his axing from Strictly. He insisted "truth wins" in a rare update since leaving the tour.

Reports claim he is " due to the dire consequences of his ongoing scandal. His situation reportedly got even worse last months amid reports that he has held since 2009.

He does have some supporters, however. Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones, who was paired with him on the 2024 series, in a new interview. The BBC is expected to make a decision on Wynne later at a later date this month.

The Mirror has approached Wynne's representative. Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment.
