Phillips was injured during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025. After this the team gave a chance to Shanaka. Shanaka is an all-rounder and has shown amazing performance on many occasions. He has a good record in batting as well as bowling.
Actually, Gujarat's fourth match in IPL 2025 was against Hyderabad. This match was played on 6 April at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. He was fielding for Gujarat during the match. He got injured while fielding. He has not been able to play a single match for the team this season. But he came on the field as a substitute player against Hyderabad. He came on the field during the fifth over of Hyderabad's innings. But after getting injured, he left the field.
How much salary will Gujarat Titans pay to Shanaka -
Gujarat has now included Shanaka in the team in place of Glenn Phillips. He will get Rs 75 lakh as salary. Shanaka has been able to play only once in the IPL so far. He was part of Gujarat in IPL 2023. He played 3 matches this season.
