Manchester United's Amad has taken to social media to share an emotional message following a season finale filled with ups and downs. Ruben Amorim's squad ended the 2024/25 campaign in their lowest ever Premier League spot, finishing at a dismal 15th, and after a crushing Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, they'll be missing out on European football next term. Nonetheless, they did snatch their first league win at home since February by defeating Aston Villa 2-0 on the closing day.
United are bracing themselves for a transformative summer transfer window, with Matheus Cunha on the cusp of becoming the club's inaugural signing of the year 2025.
A host of players are speculated to be leaving Old Trafford, with the club willing to consider bids for any member of the squad.
Amad recently updated his fans after the curtain fell on United's end-of-season tour in Hong Kong on Friday, expressing gratitude on Instagram: "Thanks to Hong Kong for the warm welcome," he posted. "Next step: National team."
The Ivorian's trip was far from uneventful, as he made headlines for hitting back at derogatory remarks post-defeat during their friendly in Malaysia. An image capturing the moment Amad responded to ASEAN All-Star team fans with an inappropriate gesture went viral, evidencing his reaction to the loss in Kuala Lumpar.
The young forward was left deeply distressed after being hurled personal insults while heading towards the team bus.
In a social media post, Amad stated: "I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mom... I shouldn't have reacted like that but I don't regret what I did. We had a great time in Malaysia with good people."
