Arnold Schwarzenegger has launched a "Terminate Pollution!" crusade aimed at young people. The former California Governor, who starred in the Terminator film franchise, used his famous role to get the message across during a university gathering in southern California.
But he stunned delegates working on developing climate literacy among children and young adults, by telling them not to use phrases like climate change "because that's really stupid". Arnie, 77, said: "If you really want people to pay attention to the planet, it's best to speak plainly."
He said talking about pollution in terms of health, and linking it to childhood asthma had "got results". "People paid attention because they said: 'I don't want my kids to get sick." And he urged: "Never use President Trump as an excuse for inaction. Nothing should ever stop us. The goal is to terminate pollution."
