England are into the Euro 2025 quarter-finals after demolishing bitter rivals Wales 6-1 in their final Group D game. The Welsh side were competing in their first-ever major tournament but were quickly put to the sword.
Georgia Stanway buried a penalty after 13 minutes following a lengthy VAR check, before that deal was doubled by Ella Toone as a result of a series of mistakes in the Wales defence. Toone then bagged two assists before half-time, setting up Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo. Substitutes Beth Mead and Aggie Beever-Jones completed the rout in the second half, either side of Hannah Cain's consolation.
Sarina Wiegman was able to ring the changes in the second half, giving her most important players a rare rest in Switzerland. The only sour note was being unable to clinch top spot, which they moved into at times during the match, but France's 5-2 win over the Netherlands kept them above the Lionesses.
Here, Express Sport takes a look at the Lionesses in their big win...
England ratings vs Wales (4-3-3)Goalkeeper
Hannah Hampton - 6
Looked a bit shaky on the ball just before half-time, gifting Wales their best chance of the match, and had little else to do outside of picking the ball out of the back of the net.
Defence
Lucy Bronze - 7
Combined well with Lauren James and snuffed out the few attacking passages of play that Wales were able to muster on a miserable night for Rhian Wilkinson's side.
Leah Williamson - 6
Quelled the majority of Wales' attacks before Jess Fishlock broke through and teed up Cain to blast an effort into the top corner.
Jess Carter - 6
One of the quieter nights of football Jess Carter will have but the centre-back will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet.
Alex Greenwood - 7
England had plenty of joy from deep crosses and Alex Greenwood was perfectly happy to continue sending balls into the box. Her delivery was masterful and caused Wales countless problems.

Midfield
Georgia Stanway - 7
England's penalty expert settled any potential nerves after 13 minutes, with the Bayern Munich midfielder clinical as ever from 12 yards.
Keira Walsh - 7
Made a defence-splitting pass just after half-time to substitute Jess Park but the ball somehow stayed out. The Chelsea playmaker showed moments of brilliance but had a quieter night than the majority of her colleagues.
Ella Toone - 9
Toone poked home from very close range after her podcast partner Alessia Russo pulled the ball back following a string of errors in the Wales defence.
She then turned provider after James was afforded too much space on the right, her inch-perfect cross was met by Hemp and Olivia Clark had no answer. After a masterclass in the opening 45 minutes, Toone was given a rest and replaced by Park.
Attack
Lauren James - 9
At times, James looked as if she was playing in an exhibition. The Welsh defence could not get close to Chelsea star and the 23-year-old had the freedom of St Gallen to cause havoc throughout. In the second half, she switched to the left wing and was just as deadly before being given 35 minutes of rest to prepare for a big role in the rest of the tournament.
Alessia Russo - 9
Russo bagged her fourth assist of the tournament when setting up Toone for the second goal, moving her level at the top of the standings with Alexis Putellas. She was unselfish to set up her team-mate to double the advantage after 20 minutes and then got her reward when Toone pulled a ball back for Russo to knock in England's fourth.
Lauren Hemp - 8
Snuck in at the back post for England's third with some very clever movement. Was sensibly brought off at half-time after putting a shift in on the left flank.

Substitutes
Beth Mead (45') - 8
Off the bench, Mead left her mark with a dazzling piece of skill before rifling home England's fifth. She was dropped after the dismal France defeat but has reacted perfectly. A touching tribute to her late mother, also, as she pointed to the sky after finding the back of the net.
Jess Park (45') - 7
Made a darting run moments after being introduced, but her left-footed volley just about stayed out thanks to Clark's fingertip.
Chloe Kelly (57') - 6
Bright and full of energy but the game was already won by the time she came on.
Aggie Beever-Jones (57') - 8
Played a smart through ball for Stanway only two minutes after entering the fray, but her effort was well saved by Clark. She then set up fellow sub Mead before getting on the end of a cross from the right to head home and add to her stellar goalscoring record.
