Four Real Madrid players 'killed and humiliated' as Arsenal warned of revenge mission

have been warned that will be eyeing up a revenge mission at the Bernabeu tonight after Los Blancos' front four were "killed by everyone" in the aftermath of the first leg of the showdown. The Gunners will be looking to in Spain following a superb performance against Real at the Emirates last week.

Mikel Arteta's side were in inspired form in the first leg as Declan Rice lashed in two sensational free-kicks to stun the visitors. And Mikel Merino added a third to put his side in dreamland. Real attackers Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior failed to make a dent in the Arsenal backline in the first leg as the home defence held firm. And Gunners icon Emmanuel Petit has sent a warning to his former employers ahead of the return match.

"I think they know what to expect in the return game," Petit told Express Sport in an exclusive interview as part of his role with William Hill Vegas.

"A lot of Real players received stick and they have been under so much criticism. So obviously Arsenal know they are going to have a strong reaction.

"The four players up front for Madrid have received so much criticism. When they came back home, I'm pretty sure the following day when they woke up they would have read everything in the newspapers and on social media.

"They know they have been killed by everyone. The feeling of being humiliated is very important in football and in normal life as well. So you can expect a strong reaction from there. And those guys can make a difference in this game."

Petit, who helped Arsenal win the Premier League title and FA Cup in 1998, added: "That's why Arsenal have to defend very strongly.

"When you have been humiliated and you have the feeling of revenge, it's a question of ownership. As soon as they took the plane back to Madrid, the first minute they would have been thinking about the return game."

And he explained: "Arsenal are going to suffer. In the first 15 minutes they will be under so much pressure.

"The defence is one thing but they have the ability and opportunity to hurt them as well. They're capable of scoring goals. It could be something terrible if Madrid score a goal in the first 15 minutes. Things can turn very crazy over there.

"But I'm pretty confident with Arsenal if they can show the same composure and the same unity they showed last week."
