Fox News cohost Jessica Tarlov says she has begun hearing from young Trump voters expressing early regrets - a sign she describes as "emblematic" of growing unease among his supporters.
On a recent episode of The Five and again on The Prof G Podcast, Tarlov recounted a conversation with a "20yearold college student from the Midwest" who voted for Trump but is now having second thoughts.
Tarlov told listeners she and the student "got on the phone" a few months ago, and last week he emailed her with permission to share his message.
Quoting him directly, she read: "I really appreciated hearing what you had to say the past week. You really opened my mind on certain things that are currently going on as someone who voted for Trump, and you have been communicating a lot of frustrations I have been feeling alongside some family and friends who didn't expect all the chaos."

The student also pointed to recent trade policy, writing: "Not to mention the tariffs, as our family owns a small business where all our products are made in China."
Tarlov said the "level of chaos" hit the young voter within just two weeks of Trump's return to power: "It only took two weeks... for him to feel strongly enough that he would write that down... That's not a casual comment."
The story sparked debate online with some welcoming the signals of disillusionment among Trump's base, while rightleaning commentators dismissed the claims as exaggerated or politically motivated.
Tarlov, a Democratic strategist and the dissenting voice on The Five, suggested that this may be just the beginning of deeper voter disenchantment, particularly among younger supporters: one college student's unease, she says, may hint at a wider trend.

She added the conversation reflects not just the student's views but those shared by "some family and friends," pointing to a broader ripple effect from Trump's early actions - especially tariffs - on smallbusiness households.
Earlier this week Donald Trump unleashed scathing criticism toward Fox News on Friday, particularly targeting its political commentator Tarlov.
The US President vented his displeasure on Truth Social, writing, "Why does Fox News allow failed TV personality Jessica Tarlov to 'soil' The Five? Her voice, her manner, and above all else, what she says, are a disgrace to television broadcasting," while claiming the network is alienating MAGA supporters by giving her airtime regularly.
