Bakery giant announced its new summer menu last week with a number of exciting delicious goods that many fans are happy about. Greggs has introduced up to 16 on the menu including an iced caramelised latte, to go with its line of iced drinks it launched last year. Additionally, customers can pick up a chicken, sweetcorn and red onion pizza, and a red, pepper, feta and spinach bake.

Finishing up with dessert, fans can now enjoy a lemon meringue muffin or a fat-free Greek style yoghurt with a strawberry compote. Greggs announced their summer menu on along with a caption that reads: "Babe wake up, Greggs summer menu just dropped!! Available now."

Over on their website, a statement reads: "Brighter mornings and warmer evenings aren't the only thing to look forward to. Now, your Greggs trips are getting a face lift with even more delicious goodies hitting our shelves for a moment in the sun.

"From a new veggie-friendly bake to a zesty muffin topped with meringue pieces - it's time to start summer early with a fresh menu full of flavour. Because let's be honest, the only way to fill this gap between seasons is with shelves stacked with snacks to make you salivate.

"It's always: 'summer soundtrack' this and 'summer wardrobe' that. But why aren't we talking about the fact that sunnier days are incomplete without delicious food."

However, following the annoucement many people realised that there wasn't anything vegan new on offer. One user said: "You could have made that spinach one vegan so easily and it would have slapped."

Another commented: "And what about your vegan queens?"

Others expressed of their "disappointment", noting that there are "no vegan options and no plant-based milk", adding that it had ruined their day.

One user pleaded: "Greggs please, my vegan sausage rolls and steak bakes need another bestie. Seriously though, how hard would some plant-based milk and a new vegan option or two be?"

Concluding the general disappointment, one person said: "Literally used to have the best vegan range now there's literally just the vegan sausage roll. You had so many options for us built up a whole clientele around it and then just stopped catering to them anymore.

"It's clearly evident by these comments that they're feeling the loss. Poor business if you think about it."

Greggs have been contacted for a comment.
