Auditions for series 19 of Britain's Got Talent are due to start in the coming months, and it's hard to believe that the talent show first aired back in 2007. With a judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Piers Morgan, Britain's Got Talent has since cemented itself as an iconic Saturday night staple on British television. Amanda has continued to stay on for every single season and has since lifted the lid on what it was like working with Piers. Speaking to Express Online and other media outlets, the Heart Radio presenter was speaking about her brand new quiz show, The Inner Circle, which is due to air on the BBC.

The show sees celebrities join forces with members of the public to compete in a series of rounds designed to test their general knowledge and strategic thinking in order to win the ultimate cash prize. Each pairing is randomly assigned a secret stash of cash, anything between zero and a whopping £5,000.

Speaking about working as a host, Amanda revealed that her reaction to the show's surprises was "genuine." She explained, "I thought if I don't know how much everybody's got, then I can play it for real, and I can be as surprised as everybody else.

"It's like when I do Britain's Got Talent, I think for years people thought we were scripted, where I was like, 'Really, who's writing this?' Obviously, we are not, and it's all off the cuff. My reactions were always completely genuine."

She then added: "I think sometimes, Piers [Morgan], I can drop him now because he's not on the show, and he could come and watch the dress rehearsal of some of the finals so that he can think of funny or relevant things to say. And I'd be like, 'Oh no, I have to be able to say exactly what I've just seen.' Otherwise, it's not real."

The innovative new programme presents a primetime six-part weekend night celebrity version that runs alongside the daytime edition. It will be available on BBC One and iPlayer this October.

During the show, each pairing only knows their own value before being thrown into a battle of wits, nerve, and strategic gameplay across a series of challenging rounds.

Only two will make it to the dramatic final, where they face the ultimate showdown: split or shaft? In this game, it's not just about what you know, it's about who you can trust.

The Inner Circle will premiere on Saturday, 4th October, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
