Meghan Markle is facing intense scrutiny over a "thoughtless" clip that she shared on social media. The Duchess of Sussex posted a video of her feet up on the interior of a limousine as it drove near to the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana died in a car crash. Meghan shared the clip to her 4.2 million Instagram followers as she made her way back from a surprise appearance at fashion week in the French capital, marking her first appearance in Europe in two years.
Her controversial footage has been slammed as "bewilderingly tasteless" and "thoughtless" as she rolled down the window as her car drove past bridges, including the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides. The next bridge along the Seine is the Pont d'Alma which is where Princess Diana died in August 1997. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams called the post "utterly bewildering", "beyond stupid" and "insensitive beyond belief", adding Prince Harry will not be impressed.
"I don't understand what on earth she was thinking - well, she can't have been thinking," he told the Daily Mail.
