Brits will face a cold turn in weather with a huge storm forecast as we head towards Autumn. Latest maps from WXCHARTS show the Atlantic storm will batter large swathes of the country with only two regions to miss out on the turbulent conditions.

Maps show that on August 24, conditions will begin to change with the storm seen swirling across towards the UK from the west. By August 29, at 6am, maps show large parts of the UK will see rain and windy weather as the storm hits.

The most impacted areas will be the north of England and the north east coast, along with the east of England and parts of Cornwall.

Northern Ireland will also see rainfall, according to the maps.

By August 31, at midnight, maps show where will have seen the most rainfall with only two regions to avoid huge amounts of rain - Yorkshire and the Humber and North Wales.

A precipitation map shows that Scotland will see the highest level of rainfall with up to 80mm of rainfall.

After this will be Devon and south Wales with around 50mm total rainfall.

A Met Office forecast says: "The forecast for Bank Holiday Monday is for reasonably fair weather, with light winds and sunny spells continuing from the weekend.

"However there is still a small chance that western or southwestern parts could see some cloudier skies and a few showers.

"As the week goes on, skies may become generally cloudier, and there is an increasing chance of outbreaks of rain and showers.

"Any precipitation would be initially across the southwestern half of the UK, and possibly spreading further north and east at times."

It adds that winds could be breezy at times, too, especially around exposed coasts and some hills.

The weather experts say that temperatures will be around normal, perhaps a little above, in places where sunnier spells persist with lighter winds.
