Will Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Victoria Kalina be in season 2 of hit Netflix show?

Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Victoria Kalina left fans gobsmacked when she chose to leave the squad in the first series of Netflix's popular docuseries, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

The legacy team member, whose mother Tina Kalina was part of the cheerleading team in 1984, 1988 and 1989, hung up her pom-poms after four seasons with the DCC.

Although she had initially intended to try out for a fifth year with the team, Victoria changed her mind when Cowboys' director Kelli Finglass and choreographer Judy Trammell admitted they didn't see her taking on a leadership role.

Reflecting on her initial plan, the 25-year-old revealed to Time Magazine: "I had full intentions on coming back, doing a fifth year, wanting to go back, still wanting to give more to the organisation and to DCC," reports .

However, she confessed: "That ending meeting made me feel that Kelli and Judy-I don't know how to explain it.

"I felt as though, no matter what I did, I was never going to climb that career ladder.

"As a performer or any other job, you always want to strive to be better and I know that I didn't want to spend another year being the same. I would love to do nothing but perform because that is my ultimate dream.

"My ultimate passion is performing. But I also would have liked to have known whether or not I was going to be moving on, so when I didn't get that specific answer is when I was really like, 'okay, I want to channel my energy and techniques elsewhere.'"

Victoria left the squad behind and set off to New York City, aiming high with hopes of joining the iconic Radio City Rockettes. Sadly, her audition didn't secure her a spot.

Remaining upbeat, the Netflix personality reached out to her followers on Instagram to share her update.

Her post reads: "This year is a 'not now' for the Rockettes but I can't wait to continue to push this next year and continue to see what other spectacular things unravel in this magical city.

"Cheers to all who have supported me on this new journey into the Big Apple. I love y'all!"

Fans are in for a treat as it's confirmed Victoria will feature in the coming season. Although she has chosen not to rejoin the team, she certainly hasn't vanished from the show. Netflix hints she'll be "taking on a whole new challenge."

In her debut on the show, Victoria captured hearts by candidly discussing her personal battles with body image and mental health.

The countdown is almost over; viewers eagerly awaiting her comeback won't have to wait much longer - season two launches on Netflix tomorrow.

America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 2 will stream on Netflix from 18th June.
