The much-loved children's Splash Park at Happy Mount Park in Morecambe has reopened for the summer, with families able to simply turn up on the day. Unlike many attractions where online slots sell out rapidly, sessions at this splash park can only be booked in person from 9.30am on the day of your visit.

The park is a favourite among families, not just for its water play but also for its woodland , adventure play area, and privately run Pirates In The Park indoor play area. Splash, which opens at weekends during term time and daily during school , features multiple water jets activated by buttons, making it accessible for children of all abilities. Built on an outdoor soft play surface, it's also wheelchair-friendly.

Among the water features are a carousel of buckets that spill water from above, a water arch that sprays anyone passing through, and cannons that soak those enjoying the watery fun.

Entry costs £4 per person, with capacity limited for each session to prevent overcrowding. Under threes go free, while spectators pay £1.

You can book in advance on the day - card payments only at the park kiosk - where you'll receive a date-stamped coloured wristband. Sessions run from 10:15am-11:15am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 12:45pm-1:45pm, 2pm-3pm, 3:15pm-4:15pm and 4:30pm-5:30pm, reports

This year, they've introduced SEN sessions, which take place during the first session every Saturday.

The kiosk opens at 9.30am and it's advisable to arrive early due to high demand, but if the current slot is full, you can book a session for later in the day.

For convenience, changing huts are available within the Splash Park itself, and toilets are situated just down from the main exit for a small fee of 20p-your wristband will permit re-entry.

After enjoying the water or while waiting for your session, there's plenty more to do in Happy Mount Park to keep families amused, including brass band performances from 2.30pm on Sundays until August 24.

Additional attractions include swing boats, trampolines and adventure golf, and with the beach just across the road, it's easy to make a full day of it.

For SAT NAV directions, use the postcode LA4 6AQ. A pay-and-display car park is conveniently located on the promenade near the park entrance.
