Lucknow: In a bid to empower rural youth through quality skill training, state govt is organising a three-day capacity-building workshop under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY). The event, led by UP skill development mission , will be held from Apr 21 to 23 under the leadership of vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship minister Kapil Dev Agarwal.
The workshop aims to enhance capabilities of institution heads who train rural youth across the state, along with divisional joint directors, district coordinators, district programme managers and management information system (MIS) managers. These officials will be introduced to new training methodologies, technological innovations and solutions to operational challenges.
Through the workshop, efforts will be made to ensure rural youth receive better training, proper guidance and timely support. This will enable them not only to secure employment but also to create self-employment opportunities for others, said a govt spokesperson. The initiative will also play a vital role in contributing to the state's goal of achieving a one trillion-dollar economy.
Senior officials from departments related to skill development, employment, industry, and education — including additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, heads of departments, and other senior officers — will participate in the workshop, facilitating direct interaction between policymakers and implementers.
