The 'Housefull 5' team, including Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, and Fardeen Khan, flew to Pune on Sunday to promote their new comedy film. But what was meant to be a fun fan event quickly turned into chaos when the crowd got out of control as soon as the stars arrived at the mall, and what followed was a stampede-like situation.

Women and children seen crying

Videos that quickly went viral showed the alarming scenes that unfolded. Young girls and women were seen crying, and people at the back struggled to even stand straight as the pressure from the crowd increased. In one video shared by Instantbollywood, a young girl separated from her parents stood sobbing in front of the stage. Jacqueline Fernandez, who noticed the distressed child, stepped in to help. She comforted the crying girl and assured her family she was safe. This small but warm gesture didn’t go unnoticed and touched many online.

Akshay Kumar pleads to the crowd to stay calm
As the situation grew more intense, Akshay Kumar took matters into his own hands. Taking the microphone, he addressed the restless crowd and pleaded for order. His voice was calm but firm as he said, “Dhakka dhukki mat kariye, please. Haath jod ke vinanti karta hoon, yaha auratein hai, bacche hai…I request everyone, please."

The event resumes with fun and dance
Thankfully, things returned to normal shortly after Akshay’s intervention. Security managed to get control of the situation, and the cast resumed the planned activities. Despite the rocky start, the event moved forward on schedule. The stars didn’t let the earlier chaos affect their spirits. They interacted with fans, danced on stage, and even joined in a friendly round of phoogdi, not only among themselves but also with members of the audience.

‘Housefull 5’, known for its larger-than-life humour, is all set to hit the big screen on 6 June 2025. It stars a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Chunky Panday, and Johnny Lever, among others.
