Health comes first for actor Srikant Dwivedi, who recently played the lead role in the show Lakshmi Narayan and currently plays the role of Lord Vishnu in the mythological show Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav. The actor says that he makes sure to include physical activity in his day, as well as eating healthy.
“To take care of my health, I try to prioritise it. I do my best to stay fit by going to the gym, running, or even doing basic exercises at home if the gym is closed. Sometimes, because of my busy work schedule, I can’t go to the gym, so I work out at home or even create a small space for exercise on set. Another important thing I do for my health is eating healthy. I try to eat food that is nutritious and rich in protein. I avoid junk food as much as possible, though I do have cravings once in a while. Maybe once a week or once in two weeks, I allow myself to eat something junk. But otherwise, I make sure my diet is healthy,” he says.
He adds, “I recently read somewhere that when we are healthy, we give more importance to work pressure, deadlines, competition, and many other things. Health becomes the least of our priorities. But the moment we face any health issue, everything else takes a backseat, and our health becomes the main concern. That’s why I feel it is very important to take care of our health and make it our top priority. Only if we are healthy, everything else in life like work and success falls into place.”
He says that everyone needs a break. “We need to slow down in this fast-paced life. We need to sit, breathe, and take life a little easy. I believe that 80 to 90 per cent of the problems we face are just in our minds, they’re not happening. People often worry, “What if this happens?” and that creates stress. And honestly, I’m not preaching, I go through the same thing. Many times, I overthink situations that haven’t even happened yet. That’s why it’s so important to slow down, relax, and just breathe. Taking a day off, doing nothing, and spending time with family, really helps keep our mind healthy and our body balanced. And yes, we should also include some kind of physical activity in our daily routine, whether it’s yoga, gym, running, or whatever works best for us.”
