Rekha, the timeless diva of Bollywood, is renowned for her signature style and graceful persona. Despite being frequently featured in the media for her career and personal life, few people are familiar with her family, particularly her sister Radha.

Rekha’s Family Background

The actress has a big family with six sisters and one brother. Her father, actor Gemini Ganesan, was married three times. He had four daughters with his first wife, two daughters with his second wife, and a daughter and a son with his third wife, Savitri. Radha is Rekha's sister. Like Rekha, Radha is very beautiful and worked as a model. She acted in some Tamil movies and did photoshoots for popular magazines, but she liked modeling more than acting.

The Missed Opportunity

Interestingly, Raj Kapoor first offered the lead role in the film 'Bobby' to Radha, hoping she would star opposite Rishi Kapoor. However, Radha turned down the offer. The role then went to Dimple Kapadia, and the film became a huge hit, making Dimple an overnight sensation.

Life After Glamour

In 1981, Radha decided to leave the glamour world after marrying her childhood friend, Usman Saeed. After their marriage, the couple moved to the United States. Usman Saeed is the son of the famous South Indian director S. M. Abbas. Radha and Usman have two sons, both of whom are now married.

About the Film 'Bobby'

Released in 1973, Bobby is a classic romantic film directed and produced by Raj Kapoor, starring Rishi Kapoor and debutante Dimple Kapadia. The story follows Raja, a wealthy young man, and Bobby, a poor fisherman's daughter, who fall in love despite their social differences. The film was a huge box office success and popularized teenage romance in Indian cinema. Its memorable soundtrack by Laxmikant–Pyarelal features hit songs like "Main Shayar To Nahin."
