Poppy, a young girl, has been a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and especially of Will Smith. She lost everything in the deadly wildfires that ravaged the city of Los Angeles this year, which gushed more than 11,500 homes. Between all of this, Poppy also lost one of her prized possessions — a photo of Dodgers’ catcher Will Smith at the World Series.
The Dodgers’ ace then decided to make a sweet little gesture for the young girl. He decided to surprise Poppy with some items so she could restart her collection.
In a video, Will Smith said he heard what happened and felt sorry for Poppy. He said.
“Hey Poppy, it’s Will, I heard what happened and I just want to say I’m really sorry,
Further, Smith said he wanted to give her a little gift. He said:
“I signed this jersey, and then your most prized possession.” It was a photo from the World Series.
Smith also invited Polly for the Opening Day as baseball season began in March. He said:
“I also want to invite you to our Opening Day, looking forward to it, and hopefully I’ll get to see you there.”
