How to make Padded Cloth in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Send Push
The sudden launch of RuneScape Dragonwids saw a combination of adventurers into the lands of Ashenfall. If someone wishes to work heavily in textiles and upgrading equipment, the first step is to get started with some wool thread. Why? It is unlocking the Loom, an important workstation for advanced levels of fabric production and armor upgradation. Here is a short guide.
Why does Wool Thread matter?Wool thread is a mid-grade crafting staple. With it, one can set up a Loom, which further allows one to:

  • Create the Wool thread, which is vital for beginner armor crafting.
  • Create the Padded Cloth, vital for reinforced gear.
  • Carry on to higher levels of crafting as the game progresses.
  • But first things first-spin some threads and set up the Spinning Wheel.

How to build a Spinning WheelOnce you have everything ready, you will need a spinning wheel for making wool threads. The following items are needed:

  • 4x Flax : Wander from Temple Woods down to Bramblemead Valley while keeping watch for shiny blue flowers- these are your flax sources.
  • 12x Ash Logs : These are very abundant on the forest floors or can be harvested directly from trees. Use your axe, or collect them by hand when you see logs lying around.
  • 2x Stone : Mine it with a pickaxe or just collect loose stones lying around big boulders. There are no tools necessary even for the latter.
After acquiring the spinning wheel, you will be ready to convert flax into Wool Thread which serves as an access point for better crafting.

Steps to build LoomNow that you have your 6 Wool Threads, it is finally time to make the Loom. Here is everything you will require:

  • 6 Wool Thread: by spinning through a spinning wheel
  • 4 Bronze Bar: Smelting copper and tin ore, or trading with local blacksmiths
  • 22 Ash Plank: create out of logs from ash by cutting them into planks using the sawmill or crafting bench
The Loom grants access to:

  • Cloth Production: A stage that must be overcome to make wearable gear and utility items.
  • Padded Cloth: After the appropriate improvements are applied to the Loom, this item gives better and upgraded armor.

Tips and tricks:

  • Start crafting early. It helps with survival and trade.
  • The resource zones change rapidly, so don't wait and just go back again.
  • Always try to stick the upgrades on your crafting stations.
Whether you're making gear for fighting or trading, using wool thread and the loom is what sets you on the road to becoming a legendary artisan. Good luck crafting!
