The $500 million extension deal went on to become the second largest in the history of MLB currently followed by the New York Mets’ $765 million deal with Juan Soto for the next 15 seasons and Los Angeles Dodgers’ $700 million deal with the two-way Japanese star Shohei Ohtani for 10 years which comprises noteworthy deferrals.
