A Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing in Minneapolis on Wednesday after severe turbulence injured multiple passengers.
The airline said medical teams met the flight upon arrival and 25 passengers were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.
Delta said in a brief statement, “Turbulence is rare but can be unpredictable,” as it confirmed the diversion to Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport .
Authorities are reviewing the circumstances of Wednesday’s incident.
