Dubai Healthcare City Authority ( DHCA ) has announced a massive AED 1.3 billion (approximately $354 million) expansion plan for Phase 1 of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), aimed at bolstering Dubai’s position as a global hub for healthcare investment and innovation. The ambitious development, slated to begin construction in December 2025 and expected to be completed by November 2027, promises to set new standards in sustainable healthcare infrastructure.
Dubai Healthcare City’s first LEED Platinum office & medical complex
At the heart of the expansion is the UAE’s first LEED Platinum-certified office building within DHCC. The state-of-the-art structure, designed by P&T Architects and Engineers, will span 13,000 square meters across nine floors and three basement levels. It will offer flexible office spaces and commercial units on the ground floor, emphasizing sustainability and smart design.
Alongside this office tower, the development features a purpose-built medical complex designed by local firm Design and Architecture Bureau (DAR). Covering 5,800 square meters over five floors and two basement levels, the complex will include surgical facilities, laboratories, diagnostic centers, outpatient clinics, and medical offices. The adaptable layout aims to cater to the evolving demands of healthcare providers and patients alike.
DHCA enhances smart infrastructure with EV charging & Salik parking
Dubai Healthcare City Authority also plans to bolster the area’s infrastructure with multi-storey parking equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, Salik-integrated smart parking, and full accessibility features to enhance community access and convenience.
Reflecting on the ambitious project, Issam Galadari, CEO of DHCA, said, “By creating an ecosystem that attracts investments, including FDI, and fosters innovation, while integrating sustainability with world-class design, we are aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050. Through the ongoing development, we will continue to cement DHCC’s position as the enabling healthcare and wellness destination for the region and beyond.”
AED 1.3 billion DHCC expansion to boost foreign investment & growth
The project is expected to attract significant foreign investment and enhance confidence among healthcare providers and investors, further cementing Dubai’s reputation in the healthcare sector.
Allae Almanini, Chief Operating Officer of DHCA, said “These projects will enhance accessibility, sustainability, and efficiency across the community, ensuring that DHCC remains the most attractive healthcare investment destination in the region.”
With construction starting late this year and completion targeted for late 2027, Dubai Healthcare City’s latest expansion is set to usher in a new era of integrated, sustainable healthcare development, blending world-class facilities with smart, eco-friendly designs. The move comes as part of Dubai’s broader vision to establish itself as a pioneer in healthcare innovation and green development.
