Widespread rainfall was reported across Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday, with heavy showers and gusty winds causing minor damages in several areas.
In Beltangady taluk, moderate to heavy rain fell in multiple places. In Mangaluru city, strong winds accompanied by intense rainfall led to a tree and an electric pole collapsing near Vyasnagar. The incident briefly disrupted vehicular movement due to road blockage.
In Sullia taluk, rain began with strong winds in the morning and continued into the afternoon and evening. Due to inadequate drainage systems in several parts of the town, rainwater flowed onto the roads, inconveniencing residents and commuters.
In Sampaje village’s Goonadka, a tree branch broke and fell on the rear side of a parked car, causing considerable damage. Across areas under the Sullia MESCOM subdivision, trees and branches fell on electric poles and power lines, disrupting electricity supply in multiple zones.

Parts of Udupi district also experienced steady rainfall throughout the day under overcast skies. Gusty winds and light to moderate showers were reported in Padubidri, Uchila, Kaup, Shirva, and surrounding regions.
