Amravati: Amravati airport is all set to commence operations with regular passenger flights from April 16 after Alliance Air successfully conducted a test flight from Indore on March 30. CM Devendra Fadnavis is set to inaugurate the Amravati airport on the same day.
Sources said booking for the inaugural Alliance Air flight from Amravati to Mumbai is full. The fare for the 1.45-hour flight will be Rs 2,100. Sources said the inaugural flight will take off on April 16 at 11.30am from Amravati airport and land at Mumbai at 1.15pm.
Alliance Air will operate flights between Amravati and Mumbai on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. As per scheduled timings released by Alliance Air, the flight from Mumbai would leave at 2.30pm and land at Amravati at 4.20pm. On its return journey, the flight would take off from Amravati at 4.50pm and land at Mumbai at 6.35pm.
The airport, which is a part of regional connectivity scheme-UDAN, is located at Belora, around 15kms off Amravati City.
Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), which developed the airport, will also handle Belora airport operations.
